I still have the 400 my dad taught me basic on. I also have an 800XL that I bought a few years ago at the Goodwill. If nothing else, they're durable.

The 800 was my first home computer. It was less computer but more Pac Man and Robotron 2014 addiction enabler.

I also learned to code 6502 machine language, so that was a bonus.
