Already got the Jean-Jacques Perrey tag and everythingey.

How can you not smile when Jean Jacques Perrey is playing? I've been trying to convince the guys at work that JJP is the ultimate feel good music for the work day. They have been strongly disagreeing with me, but I am still fighting the good fight!

It took me almost two minutes to realize this wasn't well-executed parody.
He pulled that poor little girl's hair pretty damn hard.

My older brother was on this show and I tagged along, I guess I just sat there and cried the whole time. I still have my button even though I was being a little bitch. Years later Mr. Rod MC'd the Milk Carton races at the Rose Festival. Ours' fell apart and we got in a big fight in the middle of the Westmoreland Pond over whose fault it was, and Mr. Rod was doing this pro-wrestling play-by-play. Years and years later I work at the old KTPV building (now the Hampton Opera Center) and you can still find some cool old shit in the basement if you snoop around.

more than any other television personality, Rod Anders was there for most of my growing up years.

posertom - 2014-06-06

Same. My cub scout troop built those milk carton boats and they alwasy sucked. Do they still do that?

Not this year. The park is pretty much gone for the time being. They're turning it into a Salmon run, which is pretty swell, but I grew up right by that park. The races are coming back in 2015 though.

oh weird. I guess they stopped doing it in 2002, the same year Anders passed away and revived it again in 2009.

I grew up between television markets, so I was lucky enough to have Ramblin' Rod in Portland and Ranger Charlie and Roscoe in Tacoma. Ranger Charlie gave me my first remembered boner.
