The 35 minute coda seals this for me. Starting about 4:00:40 - holy fucking shit.

Long still shots and bits of awful stop-motion animation with Gumby, Dr Who, My Little Ponys and god knows who else. And the same mumbling psycho voice. The guy has a massive Thomas The Tank Engine electric train set in basement that looks like Buffalo Bill's house.

No way is this performance art. As infinte zest said - nightmare fuel - pure and unadulterated.
