What.

DavidBowiesLuckyTennisBall - 2014-07-06

He's no King of Sweden. Maybe Finland.

Riskbreaker - 2014-07-06

So, he became a Let's Player?

infinite zest - 2014-07-06

no

Cena_mark - 2014-07-06

Yeah, I hate everything Tommy has done since The Room. The Room had the perfect "so bad its good" nature that can only happen by accident and misguided efforts in making great cinema. Now he's just a hammy goofball.

urbanelf - 2014-07-06

Tommy will never realize how stupid he looks especially when he tries to play off of his observation that people think he looks stupid.

Nominal - 2014-07-06

Same with Birdemic 2 :(

Sudan no1 - 2014-07-06

I was really hoping he would make that Melrose-Place-type show. I'm sure it would have been amazing.

joelkazoo - 2014-07-06

I find it odd that people only feel comfortable laughing AT people, and as soon as the person they laugh at gets in on the joke, it's suddenly not funny anymore to the people who were originally doing said laughing. I think that says more about the people doing the laughing than the person they're laughing at.

infinite zest - 2014-07-06

I couldn't even make it through all of Birdemic 1, just skipped to the parts with the birds. The only "so bad it's good" movies I generally like are Asylum films. They're pretty professional and although the actors know exactly what they're doing, they still put a lot of effort into it. For example, Abram Lincoln vs. Zombies was more fun than Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter and Lincoln himself was much more convincing than Daniel Day Lewis' Lincoln.

I've never actually watched The Room.. it's one of those "let's get drunk/smoke some weed" movies but around 25% we all stop paying attention and it just plays through. To me the whole "low budget" thing had already jumped the shark by the time Tarantino and Rodriguez implemented the brain wraps and scratches into their Grindhouse movies, with accomplished actors intentionally overacting or forgetting their lines and shooting through the scene anyway. Not to mention Ed Wood's legacy.

I'll probably sit down and watch The Room someday, but now I don't really see the point. That being said, I'm pretty excited for Sharknado 2, which has an all-star cast including Sugar Ray's Mark McGrath, Andy Dick, Kurt Angle and Al Roker!

infinite zest - 2014-07-06

I guess this video's from around 2011 though.. I think that was around the peak of The Room's midnight movie popularity. Can you believe it's 11 years old? 5 more years and the Room can drive.

Cena_mark - 2014-07-06

Joelkazoo, That's cause Tommy is not funny and he's not a comedian. He's a rich banker who spent 5 million dollars on the most inept and awkward film ever made. Him being in on the joke makes him try to be funny, but since he's not funny it doesn't work. Quit trying to turn this into a case for how horrible you think humanity is.

Riskbreaker - 2014-07-06

Wiseau is no fool, he has been riding this train and squeezing all the juice he can. Watching The Room shouldn't go beyond "heh, that was silly" and then you move on with your life, you don't turn the delusional doofus that made the movie into a cultural icon. If this was Ed Wood getting all the attention he will be busy making more movies instead of goofing around doing stupid ship for some money.

joelkazoo - 2014-07-06

Funny you bring up Ed Wood, risk. He actually had a bit of a cult in the underground gay circuit who loved screening "Glen or Glenda" starting in the late 1960s, and people like Fred Olen Ray tried to champion him when he was still alive, throwing him a few bucks to script "Beach Blanket Bloodbath", but Wood's alcoholism made him completely unreliable and impossible to work with.

But hey, Wiseau still has time to crawl himself into a bottle and have a massive coronary when he's 54, dying homeless and penniless. THAT would be fucking hilarious, wouldn't it, cena?

Cena_mark - 2014-07-06

At this point it would.

StanleyPain - 2014-07-07

There's a lot of conspiracy theories going around that The Room was this intricately pre-planned thing where everyone involved knew what they were doing and that they wanted to manipulate it into being this massive cult thing so they would all get rich or whatever.

Yeah, right.

fluffy - 2014-07-07

The problem isn't that he's in on the joke, the problem is that he's trying too hard to replicate successful failure, but is failing unsuccessfully.

Adham Nu'man - 2014-07-07

Joelkazoo you are right. Life is horrible and depressing and we're all just trying to get by let's not laugh at anything ever again.

joelkazoo - 2014-07-07

That's not what I said at all, Adham. I said Tommy's got in on the joke and he's having fun, and I don't begrudge him that one bit.

Gmork - 2014-07-06

That preload image, though.

memedumpster - 2014-07-06

He looks like he was poorly embalmed and no one claimed the body for burial.

That guy - 2014-07-06

I skipped through this, watched a couple of 5-second clips in disgust, and then immediately closed the tab. Then I realized that I am obliged to return and 5-star it for that.

misterbuns - 2014-07-06

No

joelkazoo - 2014-07-06

Yes

Adham Nu'man - 2014-07-07

I love Dark Souls and Tommy Wiseau is bumbling fool but this is pretty much unwatchable.

Jet Bin Fever - 2014-07-10

Drugs.
