Yeah, I was pretty bummed when he died, especially when I read his final writings reflecting on his life, and his impending death.
His movies were some of the only animation to come out of Japan that isn't complete garbage. I never did see his series (Paranoia Agent, was it?) I really have to check that out some day. I also really, really hope Madhouse ends up completing Dreaming Machine, or if nothing else, somehow releases what he completed while he was alive so we can see it.

I wish Kon had lived a longer life. The world would be better with more of his movies.

harveyjames is going to be very cross with you based on his facebook rant on this video.
I mean I get why people like this video
...people like it because it's about someone we like anyway!!
...but it's really stupid and ill-researched!! It made me cross yo
I don't disagree, I am just heralding your arrival!
I want to make a beautifully edited video with tearjerking music about Mohandes Ghandi, where the last five minutes say he came from Stoke-On-Trent and invented the ice cream scoop. Just to see if it still gets millions of shares like 'beautiful tribute to a great man RIP ; ____ ; '

The only film of his I've seen is Tokyo Godfathers. Its the best paced film I've ever seen.

I still need to see Tokyo Godfathers and all of Paranoia Agent.
I didn't know about Ohayou before - brilliant as usual. And now I just read about Dreaming Machine, which has been stalled due to financial issues but hopefully they'll be able to properly bring his final vision to the screen.

My wife and I met by having a conversation about Paranoia Agent.
The news of this man's death greatly saddens me.
