So ladies (and guys) who moon over the Doctor ... this is how he was in his youth (and his first episode).
Less than a week until Capaldi, who is a year older than Hartnell was in this.

Bort - 2014-08-17 Clara isn't bad when they aren't doing the whole "Clara is the most wonderfullest girl the Doctor has ever seen" angle; they stopped Mary Sue-ing her in "The Day of the Doctor" and she was pretty all right. She was no Rory of course, then again who could be?
But yeah, half your age plus seven, Doctor. You know why the other Time Lords don't like you? Because, in their eyes, you're an animal-fucker.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-08-17 Rory at least suits my particular taste in imaginary boyfriends so I can bear the sight of him, even if his character is agonizing to bear.
And here's hoping River Song goes away for awhile. She's grown more tiresome than the Weeping Angels, which are awful.

Bort - 2014-08-17 Glad to hear that Capaldi has some sense.
The Weeping Angels were good, once. But once the Doctor can defeat them over and over, to the point that they're more a comic device than a genuine threat, you know they've been overplayed.
Rory was the gold standard of assistants because they didn't write him with that role in mind; he just stepped up however he needed to, with nary a complaint.
In other news, I just recently discovered the existence of what has become known as the John Pertwee Recipe Book:

Marvel at the giant hand with the yellow fingernails, apparently reaching from under the table.

The cavemen aren't speaking English. The cavemen are speaking caveman, and it is being translated into English via the TARDIS.

Xenocide - 2014-08-17 Actually they are speaking Rigellian. By an astonishing coincidence, both of our languages are exactly the same.
