Jet Bin Fever - 2014-08-13 Cowboy and biker were the heart and soul of the group.
Bort - 2014-08-13 I wasn't quite a teenager when the Village People first hit it big, and like all the other kids in my class, I thought they were tough guys. Cops are tough, cowboys are tough, bikers are tough; these guys are badasses.
infinite zest - 2014-08-13 It was Waynes World for me.. Village People and Queen sort of experienced a renaissance in the midst of Pearl Jam soundalikes in the 90s when I was in elementary school. I just liked it because I used to swim at the YMCA. I did a pro recycling song for the school talent show.. C-A-N-S. Because recycling is fun! It would be years until I figured out why it's fun to stay there :)
Well at least you weren't like the group of fifth graders at my elementary school who, to demonstrate what tough guys they were, dressed up as the Village People for a talent show and did "Macho Man". The fifth grade girls couldn't get enough of it. I wonder if any of them (the guys or the girls) think back on it and shake their heads.
oddeye - 2014-08-14 Everyone looks back at things in the past and shakes their head. Search your comment history and see how much of a stupid prick you were not 6 months ago. 6 days for me probably.
