Sexy Duck Cop - 2014-08-19
This sort of shit annoys me because the joke is so obnoxiously specific it feels more like a smug shout-out to other physics nerds than an actual prank. Yes, I get it: There is no magical unlimited free energy device. But beyond that the specific requirements give this an air of SNORT CAN YOU BELIEVE THE PLEEBS THAT WOULD USE NEODYNE MAGNETS FOR THIS THING???? There's no build-up, no payoff, no moment where any intelligent person sees through the facade. It's just unfunny all around.

SolRo - 2014-08-19 total troll saturation of the internet also makes it impossible to tell if anyone really fell for it.

RabbitMountain - 2014-08-20 induced current is always AC. That's why ferric core transformers need AC to work.
These are just two coin batteries hidden somewhere

fluffy - 2014-08-21 That dude has the most punchable voice ever, but great reveal about where the batteries were hidden in his particular version.

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-08-21 If you think a battery is small, check out modern diodes. Not that they would even be necessary to light a bulb as shown.
That said, one of the magnets shown has two suspicious spots that look like glue delaminations but could be where the batteries are.
