SnapChat is awful. It's like Skype meets Twitter, with the "hook" being that everything you do gets erased the moment anyone watches it (because data permanency is SOOOO 2012). I guess this is to stop idiots from drunkenly sexting their dick pics all over the place... which might be a good idea, except your SnapChats don't *actually* get erased, as you can see from this video.
I'm still working on ++good. Will let you know when the company goes public.

EvilHomer - 2014-08-30 I don't know, baleen. I think you're selling young people short. Yes, young people are idiots. Sure, there is a marked tendency for them to do dumb things, at least in part, because they will "piss off mom and dad". There may indeed be some Pet Rock Syndrome at work here.
But I don't think that is the only factor. I know plenty of millennial, thirty-something housewives who love this app; they aren't precisely "old", but they're certainly old enough to know better. Surely, youth-oriented marketing cannot account for their obsession with this app.

I also have snapchat, though I haven't sent any dick pics yet on it. Mostly me and friends use it to send out of context stuff from our day, or silly things like pics of our cats to the friends we know would want to see it. It's a feed of truly unimportant things we send to each other that's all. I'm guessing we aren't the planned use case, however.
