I wonder what the failure mode for welding on a wheel without the tire mounted is. I suspect it involves wheels breaking and flying off at highway speeds, tipping over the semi and injuring random passers-by.
if you're such a cheap shit that you're going to weld a wheel just to save some cash, I doubt you're using a properly trained welder with correct equipment. I suspect explosive deflation from Steve-the-forklift-guy's shitty weld failing at highway speed.
I think ive seen other videos from this series at work. Theres another good one about repairing heavy machinery in which a guy's hands get pulled into some gears and the fx loook like they are out of a 1980s Sam Raimi movie.
They did something like this on Mythbusters and it was totally busted via scientific testing so I'm calling bullshit here, Michelin clearly made this shit up.
