Spooky music and dramatic camera angles aside, it IS for their own good.

Let me just elaborate: Do you really think Hell will be as nice as this? Wouldn't you rather your children suffer lightly now than eternally in Hell? If you would condemn your offspring to that then you are a child-abuser, you don't love your kids and you certainly don't love Jesus Christ.

YOU deserve to be pumped by Satan's pistons in damnation.

Binro the Heretic
I wonder, when did Jesus say you can beat piety into people? When did he say it was the church's job to physically punish people until they became holy?

oddeye
"Spare the rod, spoil the child."

I take it you've never heard of tough love? Well, loving Jesus is as tough as it gets.

Dinkin Flicka
That is not now nor ever has been attributed to Jesus, FYI

I once had an argument with a Christian about dead babies. He said that if a child dies before having an opportunity to know Christ, that kid gets a free pass to Heaven.

My response: It's possible that your child will grow up into an atheist, therefore condemning them to Hell. If this is the case, it seems that the most loving thing you could do as a parent would be to kill your child before they have an opportunity to know Christ, thereby guaranteeing them a seat in Heaven. So, realistically, Christians should be murdering their own children left-and-right.

His response consisted of 'That's insane', but he could find no fault with my logic.

In conclusion: If you're a Christian and you genuinely believe this stuff, you shouldn't just support abortion; you should demand abortion in *all cases*.

If you're trolling, well done.

The Great Hippo
Oh, yeah, the argument always thrown up against this is 'Well, now YOU'LL go to Hell for killing your children!' To which the response is: 'Maybe I love my children *so* much that I'm okay with that.'

Also, stars. This sort of shit has been going on for a long while, and it's scary as fuck.

SteamPoweredKleenex
Are you saying, Harriet, that pointing out a logical inconsistency in a belief system is "trolling?" Especially when that belief system is thrust into our culture every which way its adherents can think to push it, claiming it's the inerrant word of a supreme being?

HarrietTubmanPI
No, I just think oddeye is trolling. Or at least I hope he is.

"pumped by Satan's pistons"

Come on ffs.....

The dopey-faced guy in the red shirt, the one saying "They have to ask what we want them to do for everything. A way to kind of show them the amount of pain they're putting on everybody else is putting a little pain on them." that is the face of evil, folks.

Seriously, the fucker doesn't even bother to hide that little smile as he says it. It's the smile of a true psychotic who's stumbled onto the perfect racket. He can dominate and hurt the weak with impunity out in the open and feel totally immune from repercussion.

I want to know that asshole's name. I want to help "show" him the kind of pain he's putting on those kids.

The bitch of it is nothing bad will ever happen to a guy like that.
Grandmaster Funk
You get a glimpse of another horrifying aspect of this shit at the end, when the parents can't even get their kid out. When they finally wise up, parents often find releasing their children from the grip of these programs makes cancelling Comcast look like a walk in the park. I've heard of them essentially kidnapping siblings of residents when families visited because they just felt like they were also troublesome sinners because of their attitude or other vagary. They will do everything they can to keep the kids from leaving until they and their entire families appear to properly accept the brainwashing and praise how the program saved their lives.

Signing my children up to be taken against their will to another country with rampant corruption and optional laws? How could this ever have backfired on me?

Damn you glossy brochure!!

Suddenly this seems a lot less funny:

I don't know if the actor in that was trying to look so much like the dude who runs this real camp.

If you really want to bother them, collect the many verses in the Old Testament where God tells people to kill women, the old, the infirm, their animals and their babies.
oddeye
You are taking those out of context!

BorrowedSolution
Yeah, if you were honest you would mention that God said to do all of this to non-believers, to they're not technically people!

BorrowedSolution
*so they're not...

Fuggit.

Wait, these sexist racist homophobes made them go to school AND do menial labor? The horror.
