Wishbone!

Wishbone tag! Please!

EvilHomer - 2014-09-18

Yeah, for reals, the hell is wrong with you?!

infinite zest - 2014-09-18

Updated. I had seriously forgotten this was Wishbone. I guess now this makes more sense to me.

Boomer The Dog - 2014-09-18

I'm glad that you were rescued!

Wishbone was a fun series, I even got the plush talking Wishbone at the time, late 1997.

It's just a great show to get kids more interested in classic literature. There were tales I hadn't read and got a good overview of them through Wishbone.

Ironically the only channel we had was PBS, but I was in high school when this originally aired so I missed out. Not to say that I can't revisit them as an adult. I sort of skipped around and it really reminds me of Fairy Tale Theatre, but with Soccer the dog (yes, I did my research) replacing the special celebrity guest. Plus I'm willing to bet Wishbone chewed the scenery less than the celebrity guest stars on FTT. I'd say I wished I was younger so I could've enjoyed it as a kid, but then I would've been too young for Mathnet. Always a trade-off.. :)

Yes, he rescued me!

Unfortunately, it turned out I was imprisoned on an Aegean island with eightscore young blondes, all between sixteen and nineteen-and-a-half. They wanted me to spank them. I told Wishbone I could manage my peril on my own, but he insisted in dragging me off; said it was a kid's show or something.

Boomer The Dog - 2014-09-19

You forgot one thing Homer, those blondes are Pegasisters, aren't they?

I saw Wishbone on PBS in the afternoons, and watched it when I was here, and had a few of them on VHS. I liked the smaller Doggie voice that fit well with his size.

One thing I liked a lot, after the stories themselves, were the behind the scenes looks at TV production they did at the end of the shows. Wishbone would show a production element, like Foley for example, talking about it and showing how it was done, with an example from that show.

That was an interesting idea that I hadn't seen on shows before.

That just gave me a great (?) idea: Monty Python And The Holy Grail And Ponies! The most over-quoted scenes, re-enacted by a cast of ponies! I bet people would LOVE that!

That's a funny picture Homer! It actually seems to work, I don't know why.

You stated it here, so it's your idea for Pony Python. If you do something, bark about it.

Quicktime will always be a 90s video format for me.

Boomer The Dog - 2014-09-18

Right, I have old Kodak pocket cameras that use mov. Some computers couldn't play it, where it seemed everyone could play avi from my Flip.

this game made me cry when i was kid. i cant watch this

Boomer The Dog - 2014-09-18

Can't watch this. At least he worships Stan, I can go for that.

It's like when Joan Rivers hit the streets and asked people how they liked her new show, and everyone praised it, even though it hadn't aired yet.

I love and own a terrier because of this show.
