Proof the First Doctor Cybermen were the most realistic.

Not too ridiculous for a first generation machine. The future is pretty exciting.

As a prototype this is really exciting. My grandpa spent the last few years of his life using peritoneal dialysis for chronic kidney failure; peritoneal dialysis was, in his opinion, the least-bad of a lot of approaches, because he didn't have to be hooked up to a machine and it gave him one last scientific experiment to do (he loved taking all the measurements and recording them in his logbook and making sure he was doing the right amounts of chemical exchange and so on). But he still hated having to sit around for a few hours every day just waiting for osmosis.

When this prototype can become a single integrated device like a modern-day insulin pump, I can see it really improving the quality of life for a lot of people.
