In theaters? really?
a candy-colored clown they call the sandman...
Nice right-wing reactionary messages here: faith and violence are necessary to maintain freedom, but the meaning of freedom is left undefined. One cannot compromise because compromise is capitulation - a "watering down" of our principals.
According to wikipedia the plot revolves around a evangelist/religious leader who opposes the "...Faith and Fairness Act which would not allow Christians to state that they have the whole/only truth."
We are so far away from anything like that, not just in the US but in the world, I have no idea what planet these people are on. Is this the last gasp of the religious right? A signal of it's growing power? Or just a statement of its power - that it's still here, with the same basic message?
Oops yeah, you're right. I was just automatically thinking of Europe and most of the "first world".
american xtians aren't educated enough to know about the places in the world that would execute them for being as insufferable as they are.
yeah you're clearly not prejudiced against jews and christians solro..... clearly
glad we got into that little tiff
Yeah...you're an idiot.
Hating Israel is hating jews, right?
did you read what you wrote a few lines up?
"Your ministry reaches more people than the evening news."
Does is also reach more people than the newspaper? The radio? Wireless telegraphy? There wasn't even a single shot of a computer or hacker used to track a government fugitive in this conspiracy movie. As if we didn't already know this is a movie by old people terrified of modern society, for old people terrified of modern society.

Nice. They put the phrase "I have a dream" in the mouth of the anti-christ character. Very nice.

All points about how Christian persecution mainly exists in places like Somalia aside, this looks really bland.
The Network reboot has Peter Finch rolling in his grave.
So are the big actors in the movie xtain nutters or desperate for cash?
Though a friend of mine in L.A. explained how they get well-known actors to appear in crap like this (as well as Uwe Boll style movies):
"Hello, is this agent of Actor McFamous?"
"How would your client like a quick 10k?"
"We start shooting in three days. We'll wrap your client's parts by the end of the month."
"That's not really enough time to evaluate the script."
"We'll pay in advance."
So... *should* Christians be allowed to state that they have the whole/only truth? Why or why not?
But then not allowing them to enforce Biblical-based legislation is persecution. Telling them they can't refuse to fill a birth control prescription or deny a homosexual employment. is an infringement on religious freedoms. Declaring that tax paid public institutions can't promote or sponsor Christian rallies was the beginning of the end.
But when your church tells you from the moment of self-awareness that not only is your religion the one true belief system that holds the fate of all humankind in its grasp but that there's also a trickster fallen angel who deceives children by hiding in seemingly innocuous tabletop RPGS or up-tempo Christian rock...yeah, you might naturally grow up thinking the whole Western world has conspired against you while you jerk off to movies like this.

Nah, the ultimate American Christian persecution movie would be about an epidemic of people with Jesus fish on their cars getting their tires slashed, and such.
The guy in this movie is in trouble because he can actually separate his faith from his politics, and he doesn't want his belief system co-opted by the power elite. I think it will fly right over the head of most American Christians.

The last thing Senator Kelly needs is another controversy!
|Old People |
"Mom? Mom, it's Mitt. I crashed the van again."
From this trailer I gather that he's been framed for murder because of some internal government Ohbummer anti-Christian conspiracy. Otherwise, Christians do realize there are investigative techniques beyond a picture and a body dumped in a car, right? Or would forensics make science look good?

Approved for appropriate audiences indeed.
