This is what indoctrination truly looks like. People are trying to use GG to gain their own little fiefdom of celebrity and meager power ("Oooh! Let's send form e-mails to a site's sponsors!") or it's an excuse to lash out at everyone and everything that ever "wronged" them since the internet can't hit back.

It's also a sure bet none of these assholes have ever read any history of HUAC, blacklisting, etc. because they'd fit right in.

Do you actually think people calling your little circlejerk "as bad" as ISIS, no matter how seriously, is just as bad as direct credible threats of rape and murder by multiple people against specific women?

I thought the whole ISIS connection came about when #ISIS and #GamerGate were trending, bots picked up the hashtags, and the GG'ers claimed that this was an anti-GG plot to equate them with terrorism.

Not that many GG idiots don't still avow ("IT'S BEEN CONFIRMED!!!") the strawman caricatures they claim are trying to wipe them out using bots. Which ignores how bot accounts operate entirely, because that's ideologically handy.

Instead of the criminals and thugs, let's concentrate on the mainstream of GamerGate, who, while not actually threatening women, are directly involved in an organized effort at using political power to purge the internet of dissenting opinions like the arrogant little fascist pieces of shit they really are.

This whole line about the "vocal minority", and how most GG people are basically decent sidesteps the real issue.

The person in this video is a kid. He's not supposed to be smart. Thunderf00t, Harpo Baldwin, that bitch from the heritage foundation, anyone who is over 35 and associated with GG should burn in hell, but when I look honestly into my past, I might have pulled stupid shit like this when I was 20 to rid the world of disco.

But we don't really need to care if the GamerGaters are good people or not. It's none of our business. We don't even need to worry about if they're misogynist, though many of them certainly are. The only real debate is about how GamerGate effects every part of the culture that it touches, and that's why the focus on the criminal element is completely appropriate. It's having an impact.
