I saw Joel at a Q&A session at a comic con this year. I was one of maybe 10 people who signed up, but I think I'm the only one who didn't pay. He acted like he couldn't wait to get it over with and go back to standing in line for Peter Criss' autograph. If you saw the sad nerds that were asking the questions, you wouldn't blame him.

I met Joel a few months back at a con. He was super cool and nice. He spent something like 12 hours sitting at a table then afterwards went to dinner with some friends of mine (WHO DID NOT TELL ME WHAT WAS GOING ON THE BASTARDS) then did his Riffing Myself presentation for about 50-60 people. He seemed super cool and having fun, but seemed insanely pissed about how badly the convention was managed (which was true). It will be a moment I will never forget...I geeked out, I must admit. But he led me though it.
