Hm. Usually people who are shy or have anxiety don't mention that first thing. It's still a better approach than the DTFs of the world I guess..
Who tries this in bookstores anyway? Maybe in the checkout line, but not when somebody's obviously occupied, even if they seem bored. I was mentioning to a friend of mine that I don't like coffee shops for dates any more because you have to be quiet and everyone's on their laptops or buried in their cellphones; basically they've become the new libraries, so I've switched to bars. And I read or write at bars. The assumption, for me anyway, is that they (or I) don't want to be interrupted at that moment, and would rather wait until they're staring off into space or at a muted television set alone before I attempt to strike up a conversation.

That certainly wasn't scripted/acted at all
You can tell it's fake by like 0:22 when she's still looking at him.
Either that or he's :
The World's Handsomest Shy Guy In A 3-Piece Suit.
This is definitely fake, but I will say that pretty much everyone I've known who had more than one tattoo had at least one that was pretty much chosen to be a conversation starter. People with full sleeves then to like talking about them.

PUA's give terrible advice. Of all the ways to meet people, approaching strangers who are obviously preoccupied is the worst, even for someone outgoing. Bookstores aren't too bad a place to go, I guess, but you still would have to luck out and find someone checking out a book that you're genuinely interested in and can talk about.
Better suggestions: dating websites (the good ones you have to pay for), friends of friends, join clubs for grownups, take classes for grownups at your local community centre. Even if you don't meet anyone there, you should still try to make friends because those people have single friends that you could meet. If all of those options sound awful, then maybe you just shouldn't be wasting your time trying to form human relationships in the first place.

Fuck, I really have to remember to sign out of my Youtube account before I look at this garbage, I was already getting a bunch of Gamergate horseshit this month as it was.
I don't think it matters. I've tried signing out, using multiple accounts, disabling history, wiping every cache on my drive, re-disabling history, using a different browser, using a different device, re-re-disbaling history on every device I own; Youtube still finds a way to fill my sidebar with Gamergate/ Furry/ Quirky Thai videos.
The weirdest thing is, the only Quirky Thai video I even watched was one short clip that IZ posted a month ago. Yet try as I might, I cannot get Youtube to recommend me any good American-models-in-a-JAV-about-tentacle-vore clips!

Is this the start of some porno that they just reused as a PUA guide?
