I admire the resilience their brokenness has. It boils down to "I'm mentally borked, but it can't possibly be due to something wrong with ME, it's something THEY'RE doing!"

The fantasies about the "THEY" bit are truly fascinating. I'm sure this'll be the basis for a religion someday.

"...it can't possibly be due to something wrong with ME, it's something THEY'RE doing!" has kept nationalism and organized religion going strong for a long time, these people just need a better recruitment program.

This culture is extremely atomizing, and sensitive people who might have otherwise thrived in a more human society have paranoid breakdowns as a consequence of living perpetually as outsiders.
You're a piece of shit if you make fun of them for that.

Morgellons is kind of funny, though. It's too bizarre not to be.

Who?

Old_Zircon - 2014-12-06
This song is actually pretty great in an 80s Sky Saxon sort of way.

Old_Zircon - 2014-12-06
I actually agree with Waugh but he omitted the fact that we're doing better than ever, it wasn't to many generations ago that people like this were getting burned or stoned to death at a much higher per-capita rate than today.

Maybe. Not nearly as many lobotomies or forced ECT, either. Better that the environment didn't induce and punish madness in the first place but it's hard to get there from here.

Also, if the person behind this song is otherwise perfectly "functional" and he's reinforcing paranoia in others he can get stuffed.
