the Japanese version is much more 80s fabulous

and New Dominion Tank Police intro is much more 80s hair metal fabulous, until it turns to jpop.

This was my first anime that I got my Dad to rent. God damn me.
Caminante Nocturno
I watched this so many times that I was able to memorize the lyrics.

Tank police..how do you catch a rapist with a tank? who knows, just listen to the song...Tank police...seriously just don't think about it..Tank police!
Unmerciful Crushing Force
I certainly felt the power that they got.

The Puma Sisters dance song was wicked hot for a younger more merciful crushing force...
Such an earworm.
Kid Fenris
I never liked this as much as the comic. Masamune Shirow did some good stuff before he turned into the worst parts of Heavy Metal Magazine and DeviantArt with a bronzed CG filter.
His comics are way more weird and fun. It's odd to think they technically watered down the TANK POLICE concept for the anime.

I picked up a manga of his called Black Magic at a book sale, and it was this wonderfully batshit story about a broom-riding witch in cyberpunk Neo-Tokyo.

Dude just throws everything he wants to draw together and fills in the story later.

Yeah, this was one of the first anime I ever saw, compliments of the SciFi Channel at 2am back in the 90s.

Oh, SciFi Channel, how I miss your glory days of random anime that you never aired in it's entirety, wedged between your corny original programming about UFOs and reruns of Cleopatra 2525.
You should actually check out the prequel OVA to that Zeriam movie they used to air all the time. It's surprising well-done.
