Loses a star because Cthulhu should be much larger, maybe more along the lines of a big hollow plastic toy like the old Shogun Warriors or the Kraken from the 1980s "Clash of the Titans".

On a bizarre somewhat related note, I had a weird dream about Cthulhu a few nights ago. I dreamed I was playing a PC game done retro style like an early 1990s point & click adventure combined with arcade mini games. The player controlled Cthulhu...who was a homicide detective.

There were no other Lovecraftian creatures, it was just a straight-up police procedural sim with Cthulhu in a suit and overcoat looming over bodies at crime scenes looking for clues.

My son would be all over these toys. His concept of monsters is very Lovecraftian, and has been since we went camping when he was 4 and the spooooooky campfire story I told him was a condensed (and recollected in part via Metallica lyrics) version of "The Shadow Over Innsmouth."

This is cute, but I still hate this nerd culture shit revolving around Lovecraft that has been invented by people who so obviously have never actually read anything by him as they'd know that the stories generally don't revolve around Arkham Horror style characters doing battle with monsters and shit. The funnier joke would be to make a series of creature figures and then a series of human character figures and then just have them all go insane.
