There are starving kids in Africa that could have ate that iPhone 6.

Crab Mentality - 2014-12-23

Seriously, fuck this guy. What the hell were we supposed to learn from any of this?

Sudan no1 - 2014-12-24

Don't Boil Your iPhone 6 in Coca-Cola.

That guy - 2014-12-24

The next time you're considering whether or not to open a 2-liter bottle of coke, pour some into a pot, bring it to a boil and drop in your iphone 6, PERHAPS you will remember this video and it won't seem so stupid after all, Mr. Crab Mentality.

Oktay - 2014-12-24

I personally learned that if your stupid stunt gets you 4M views, you can easily justify the cost of an iPhone.

Oktay - 2014-12-24

Oh and turns out his whole channel is about various ways of destroying iPhones and other electronics.

infinite zest - 2014-12-23

aw.. I kinda wanted a new iPhone for Christmas but now that I know this, I think I'm going with a Galaxy and boil it in Pepsi or a Droid and boil it in RC instead. Or a Blackberry and boil it in Josta.

fluffy - 2014-12-23

Oh wow someone else remembers Josta? Stars for you.

Old_Zircon - 2014-12-23

What on earth is Josta? Is it some store-brand version of Shasta?

Old_Zircon - 2014-12-23

Incidentally, if you get e.coli in Beverly the only food they'll let you have in the hospital is Shasta and Jell-o.

I really wish I didn't know that.

Mother_Puncher - 2014-12-23

Wal Mart Straight Talk phone boiled in Faygo

fluffy - 2014-12-23

It was a short-lived Pepsi product that was their attempt at making a Guarana energy drink. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josta

Mother_Puncher - 2014-12-23

Josta was one of the sodas I really wanted to get a can of back when I was collecting soda. Never got it. Incidentally if anyone has a bottle of Sprite Ice they are willing to let go, hmu yo

The Mothership - 2014-12-23

Mother_Puncher, I absolutely love that you collect soda. I remember in 1996 vans would drive up to my high school and give away 6 packs of Josta to any kid who asked.

cognitivedissonance - 2014-12-24

Josta was Pepsi with Guarana in it.

There you go.

Old_Zircon - 2014-12-24

Motherpucher, I had no idea we had a real life soda collector on here. I'm kind of weirdly fascinated by the soda collecting world; I first found out about you people about 2006 or 7 when I was curious to know if it was possible to get an unopened case of OK (possible, but not happening; I could get a usable beater used car for that kind of money).

Old_Zircon - 2014-12-24

You don't happen to have any Dr. Radical, do you?

Old_Zircon - 2014-12-24

Or do they still make it?

There was allegedly a Dr. Diablo made by Shasta, too.

Mother_Puncher - 2014-12-24

Most of my soda collection was destroyed over years of moving around. I usually collected sodas I liked so I hoarded MD Pitch Black and PB 2 and I still have a shitload of dnL. At this point its mostly a can collection which I knew it would be because expired soda tastes terrible.

I havent kept up with it in a while unless something limited edition came along like the Mountain Dew Dark Knight soda which I got because it was just pitch black. My favorite things in my collection are the Sprite Remixes and Fanta Grapefruit. I was part of an online community in high school when I did most of my collecting that was credited for getting Vault into production but the SURGE facebook movement did more for actually getting SURGE back. I distinctly remember Vault was tested in a few states starting sometime in June 2005 but we had a store here in East TN that was selling it in the middle of May and I would buy a bunch and trade with people in different states for sodas I couldnt get here (Jolt Cola being my main import). I dont even drink soda anymore because of how incredibly bad it is for you but I still like to poke around the soda collecting community every now and again and pick up something I havent seen before.

infinite zest - 2014-12-26

Since it's Christmas, I got a new iPhone 6; at first I was like "no I don't need it," I guess it was only 5 bucks per month on lease with my family's plan, which made me feel better, because I have a perfectly good iPhone 4s, and there's people out there with really old cellphones, and a lot more people who don't have cellphones at all. And some people who need a warm place to stay tonight. That's why I go to the dollar store and buy the gloves and socks so I can walk around and give them to people who want to stop and chat, and seem cold. I'll have to figure out what to do with the old phone (seriously if anyone knows of a good cellphone recyclery, I can't find any in my area except for Cricket, and I don't want and $$ for it let me know)

infinite zest - 2014-12-26

Lost my train of thought there; I just couldn't imagine breaking a nice device like this, and believe me I've been pissed and thrown expensive things at walls before in altered states before, but methodically boiling and destroying that thing that's so sought after by so many kids in an economy where fuck-if-I-could-afford it, I dunno, fuck this guy, whether he was an apple employee or not

Chocolate Jesus - 2014-12-26

shut up and sell your stupid phone

EvilHomer - 2014-12-26

No! Find some Josta and boil your phone in it!

Do it! Doooo iiiit!

Mother_Puncher - 2014-12-23

I love videos of people destroying highly sought after and expensive electronics people wait in line to get.

Hooker - 2014-12-23

I'm more angry that he wasted the Coke.

infinite zest - 2014-12-23

He could work at an Apple Store? Employees get new products for next to nothing, partly so they can use them at coffee shops or on busses or wherever, purely for marketing purposes. I'll bet that bottle of coke was more than the phone.

EvilHomer - 2014-12-24

Apple products deserve all the shit he does to them and more.

Mother_Puncher - 2014-12-24

It doesn't really matter how he got it. The fact is he has something some people really want and he has the privilege of just destroying it for no reason other than the fact he can. And all the people who want it but cant afford it or waited in line all night for it and still came up short can just watch him ruin it for fun. To me that is beautiful.

Old_Zircon - 2014-12-24

I bet that bottle of coke cost more to manufacture than the phone.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2014-12-24

You're actually right OZ.

http://www.businessinsider.com/china-labor-watch-apple-iphone- workers-2013-7

The bottle of coke was manufactured by a US factory worker getting paid minimum wage at the very least, forty hours a week, whereas the iPhone 6 was put together by a guy working 66 hours a week for .50 an hour with no breaks.

animegurl1000 - 2014-12-25

A bit more than minimum wage, actually. The average salary for a low-level Coca Cola production line worker is about ,000 a year.

The Mothership - 2014-12-23

'Don't breathe this' tag, please.

Also, is there some boiling fetish that I don't know about, cause this dude seems really turned on by this.

kingarthur - 2014-12-23

I attempted to add that tag "don't breathe this" but something keeps fucking up and changing it to "don breathe this".

So, look out there, Don. Whoever you are.

Also, he is really sexual about the whole thing.

fluffy - 2014-12-23

poetv barfs on tags with ' in them, as it always has. Just do 'dont breathe this' instead.

kingarthur - 2014-12-24

Done and done.

Ugh - 2014-12-23

you make an i phone 6, what do ya get, employee on the roof lookin down on a net

That guy - 2014-12-24

Bort - 2014-12-24

If Coke will do this to an iPhone, imagine what it will do to your teeth.

Mister Yuck - 2014-12-24

Don't boil your teeth in coke.

EvilHomer - 2014-12-24

This new season of Black Mirror is pretty awesome!

Oscar Wildcat - 2014-12-24

I'm astounded the battery didn't explode. Props to the folks responsible for making that possible.

The Mothership - 2014-12-24

really.

fluffy - 2014-12-26

That's probably what the massive gaseous venting was toward the end, but yeah, it's amazing that it had such a relatively-harmless failsafe instead of causing a gigantic lithium fire.
