The last time I saw a snake act like that, it was dying because someone cracked its skull with a broom handle.

Crab Mentality - 2014-12-25

That snake is being attacked by ants, and trying to shake them off.

oddeye - 2014-12-24

jesus christ that was fucking horrific

That guy - 2014-12-24

don't feed your cobra cool ranch doritos and code red, then

Mother Lumper - 2014-12-24

Poor guy. I suppose it's easier for people to find this funny because there's more of a disconnect with a limbless animal that isn't a mammal.

infinite zest - 2014-12-24

I've always wanted a snake but I can't deal with the reality of feeding it mice: I'm basically to snakes how vegans miss the bacon. They miss the taste of a good BLT but don't want to know how it was made. I think snakes are awesome and I love them but I could never take care of one properly.

As far as this guy goes, an old neighbor of mine had a white snake (I think a ball python) who did this same thing in her aquarium once in a while, and as far as I know she's still around, so maybe our friend here is OK.. (?)

EvilHomer - 2014-12-24

I don't mind seeing how my bacon was made. It's not pretty, but it happens, and I'm cool with that.

I would not want to see footage of my bacon being made presented as a funny electro dance video, however.

Zest, it's actually very common to feed snakes with very, very dead mice, and even mouse-filled sausages that in no way resemble animals.

You could totally own a snake. Corn snakes are usually very easygoing and don't need huge quantities of special care.

As to this particular snake.... That ain't right. There's some large ants running around in the vid, so the snake might well be getting stung.

infinite zest - 2014-12-24

That's good to know. I used to have a turtle and just bought "Monkey Food" (not sure exactly what it is but I didn't have to) and I think anyone who tries to raise a veggie cat deserves to have the aspca called on them. Most snake owners I've known prefer the live mice though, because it's more what the snakes are used to. And I actually fed a couple of mice to Atilla just to see if I could keep it together, and I did. As far as her "dance," it wasn't anything this extreme, just a little weird spasm and then back to normal Atilla.

Architeuthis Tux - 2014-12-24

Corn snakes are not like other snakes. They're basically domesticated and will attack and attempt to eat anything that smells like a mouse and not much else.

That guy - 2014-12-25

Yes, Mother Lumper, yes, I suppose it's easier not to sympathize with a venomous, limbless, cold-blooded, oviparous animal without mirror neurons or detectable emotions of any sort than it is to laugh at a dog doing weird stuff for no reason we know, which is still pretty damn funny.
How cruel we all are to laugh at this individual's pain.
Big fat pussy.

Gmork - 2014-12-25

"That guy" consistently earning the title of community dipshit, 5 stars

That guy - 2014-12-25

From you, is compliment.

jaunch - 2014-12-24

I didn't even know snakes had ears, much less could get mites in them.

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2014-12-24

Dunno whats up with the snake. But it is reasonable to assume it is dying or on tremendous pain. In which case, fuck this video.

Caminante Nocturno - 2014-12-24

The snake probably deserved it.

bopeton - 2014-12-24

I suspect neurotoxins. Probably some kind of pesticide it got into.

Pretty scary really.

Mister Yuck - 2014-12-24

The snake is obviously experiencing uncomfortable flatulence, all you people are monsters for looking at this.
