I love Sarah Millican

I'd love if there was a show like this in the US, or maybe there is, the celebrity aspect is entirely too British for me. The only person I know is Mel B, and that's kinda sad but absolutely true. But then again, I can't think of any North American celebrities either, besides the internationally known ones, so I'm probably just out of the loop. I love accidentally getting involved with pub quizzes just because I happened to be at the pub, and the option of playing at home (or at the pub mindlessly staring at a television set) would be great.

This is what American TV used to be in the 50-70s.

SolRo - 2015-01-01

You should know better than to ask for an American remake of a British show.

Just one of the ways it will be horrible; Instead of mostly good comedians and the rare "celebrity", it would be all pop culture celebrities and reality TV stars with a "whacky" comedian as host.

infinite zest - 2015-01-01

Ya. In my mind it would be hosted by Scott Auckerman (from Comedy Bang Bang) or my boyfriend Jay Johnston, and consist of mainly personalities from Jash, with one random bigger celebrity like Louis CK. Something inside me knows that the reality will be a pub quiz show hosted by Zach Galifanakis, or even worse, Danny McBride (seriously I like Eastbound and Down but that guy's really annoying.)

You don't know who David Mitchell is, you sonofabitch??

fluffy - 2015-01-04

Or Richard Ayoade?

infinite zest - 2015-01-01

Is that Cyriak animation at the beginning? I didn't watch any further than that but five stars in advance because I think it totally is!

fluffy - 2015-01-01

That looks nothing like Cyriak's style.

infinite zest - 2015-01-01

You think? Cyriak's been doing more mainstream and commercial stuff, like this

http://youtu.be/jrNhBtjsIxo

so I sort of put 2 and 2 together, but besides a few cool AE tricks, it could be anybody using AE.

Old_Zircon - 2015-01-01

That looks nothing like Cyriak's style.

That guy - 2015-01-02

Cyriak styles nothing that looks like '.

BillLumbergh - 2015-01-01

happy new year poeTV!

Bobonne - 2015-01-01

While I oppose discrimination against the disabled, inviting someone with no sense of humor onto a humor panel seems a poor decision.

Old_Zircon - 2015-01-01

I don't know, I think the pervasive tension and uncomfortableness adds a certain edge to the whole thing.

SolRo - 2015-01-01

I was expecting/hoping that after one of the breaks there would just be a different person in her seat with a new name taped over hers

That guy - 2015-01-02

Every show needs a villain; an unwitting one will do.

wtf japan - 2015-01-03

She's an amazing foil, actually. It's like she can't avoid ratcheting up the tension, and it takes all of them working together to keep breaking it so that it doesn't become unbearable to watch. You can really see the virtuosity of the other panelists because of it.

fluffy - 2015-01-01

Oh, so THAT'S how you pronounce Ayoade.

TheSupafly - 2015-01-01

I was all ready to hate Mel B, and maybe that lowered my expectations to the point where I thought she was surprisingly funny and dry.

SolRo - 2015-01-02

We're you expecting her to be slowly skin a live kitten over the course of the show, while dressed as hitler, shouting homophobic slurs?

simon666 - 2015-01-02

FYI: Big Fat Quiz 10 Year Anniversary show is airing tonight with Jimmy Carr, Noel Fielding, Russel Brand, and a bunch of other limp dicks. Should be good.
