I remember the original excavator week, and Bobcat week, and excavator rowing a boat week. This new excavator week is coming along nicely, and it reminds me of how likeminded we are all here. Poetv hive mind works in 2014 and 2009.
Also I love how at 10:59 all the dudes on the right start shuffling away.
Ha! I wasn't aware of excavator week. This has been my life for the past several years. I'm sure you're aware of the Big Pipe Project and the Tillicum bridge; I used to work right there through both of those at the Opera building. Then I moved to a new place and a sign went up saying that construction was starting next week! I've learned to embrace it but seriously if there was some big earthquake it wouldn't feel much different from what I have to feel every day.
Good lord this reminds me of my childhood. My family had 300 acres of woodlands in Northern Ontario that I spent a great deal of time at while my family built our cottage. It was rough terrain and so we had to move a ton of earth. This brings me right back... I can just smell the diesel, chainsaw oil, fresh cut lumber and muddy rain.
Yeah. One time I was backing out of my parents' driveway when they were on vacation, which I wasn't really supposed to be doing. They have a pretty steep one and I went right up on the side and the more I tried to go either direction the deeper I went. I really can't blame anybody but myself, but I did have to get waaaay over to the side because there was a ton of construction shit blocking the entry way. Anyway in my mini-panic attack several construction workers came by and made a bridge just like that one and my parents' car was fine. I asked if I could pay them and they said "nope." I think they just enjoyed doing that, even though they were on their lunch break.
