Nadezhda is a horrible person. Fuck Pussy Riot, Long live Voina!

To me she's sort of the Ninja or Chuck D of Russia. How do we address these issues to the mainstream? Through pop music and a face. Like, I probably wouldn't have started listening to Public Enemy in the first place if it wasn't for pasty white Eddie Furlong wearing the t-shirt in T2 blasting down the street on a moped with the guy from Salute Your Shorts blasting Guns n' Roses, that's how out of touch I was with the real world, at 11 years old. All the street art in the world at the time couldn't have affected me. I dunno, did she do something I don't know about to piss off Voina?

Amongst other things, she and her husband have been accused of being faux-revolutionaries more concerned with self-promotion than the issues at hand, stealing credit for previous actions, and of ratting out another member of Voina to the cops, robbing his apartment after he was arrested.

So much so that no (or most) original members align themselves with the two, yet Pyotr and Nady co-opted the Voina name, so there are essentially two Voinas.

There are plenty of links, but this sums it up pretty well:

Interesting. I sort of figured it was something like that, like how 4chan was pissed when someone took their cheeseburger cats and published them. But, you know, for something a little more important than cheeseburger cats. :)

It's cool that they are out of priz, but this song kind of sucks.

Kabbage - 2015-02-19

Video kinda sucks too, with them clearing their mouths with their hands and all that. Maybe would've been worth more than one take for something like this.

But yeah, I'm mostly just glad they're out.

It's a strange transition from their earlier stuff, which sounded kinda like Bikini Kill to me. As for this song, it seems like sort of a natural progression into.. something musically. For example, Glass Candy and The Chromatics both started off as Riot Grrl before finding fame in Italian Disco. Same with The Knife for that matter. As for the video, I kind of liked the reaction because it was natural. Kinda like that Sia video (yeah I watched it) with Shia LaBeouf or however you spell his name. The non-choreography of the whole thing makes it work.

They probably only had a few minutes to shoot video before the Russian cops showed up and started chasing them

They're just hiding.
