How do the men here not know about fairly basic anthropology and/or sociology? The women are saying that our (Western but probably most by now) culture's social conditioning for males is horrible for men and for women. Social conditioning is a huge reason why people act the way they do - this happens among other primates too, and there's plenty of evidence. There's also evidence that cultures can become more egalitarian; why resist?
