I've seen it claimed by a marine biologist that these might actually be catfish - piranhas are not the only dangerous carnivorous fish in the river Oh and it might also not be a good idea to feed these fish because it will draw them to the area and they'll hang around. Oh well.

I always grouped piranhas along with quicksand in the "things that are way more dangerous in movies than in real life" category.
