Secretary, could you please draft two standard 'rich and famous' contracts for these young go-getters? And please clear two corner offices.

You could put that out with a lid. Scale it up and put out a tire fire and i'll be interested.

Too bad their choice of fire retardant sucks.
Oh yeah, it's pretty obscure, you probably haven't heard of it...

Also useful for defeating alien symbiotes.

Rather than sound why don't they just use high density pressure waves to like "knock it out" so to speak? Seems silly to blast Skilrx or whatever at a fire with a clunky device when you could make some kind of rapid fire air cannon to do the same job only better.

Old_Zircon - 2015-03-27 Why do so many engineers dress like a PUA convention?
|
Old_Zircon - 2015-03-27 Never mind, I got a better look at those pants. I was basing that mostly on hair. I still think the percentage is higher than the general population, though.

Sanest Man Alive - 2015-03-27 ashtar: not really, if you're talking about electrical or chemical (read: petroleum) fires. This is why extinguishers come in different varieties, and why none of them are "comically large seltzer bottle".
|
Oscar Wildcat - 2015-03-27 It's also been my experience that blowing on a carbon rich fire is a great way to crank up the heat. Be so warned, AfroTech engineers.
|
ashtar. - 2015-03-27 you and your fancy book learning wouldn't last a minute in my world of comically large seltzer bottles that's how we kick in on the streets

This is probably a dumb question, but if you're able to produce sounds like this with your own voice (I'm thinking of Rhazel and Tuvan throat singers) could you create a similar frequency that could potentially put out a small fire?
|
Oscar Wildcat - 2015-03-27 Why of course you can. Take a drag on that smoke you've undoubtly got in your hand, and blow a smoke ring. Now blow many rings in succession. That is exactly what is happening here. No need for the smoke, but it helps to see what you are doing.
|
infinite zest - 2015-03-28 Heh.. I dunno.. voices can break glass if the frequency is high and loud enough.. but I was surprisingly not high when I asked that.
|
Oscar Wildcat - 2015-03-28 I'm quite serious about this. If these noobs would put some smoke in their bass bazooka, you'd see a chain of smoke rings coming out the nozzle. You think I am ribbing you but I am not.
