Not actually Orson Welles. Died in '85

Also five for the Fibber McGee joke at 3:38

Maurice LaMarche makes a better Orson Wells than Orson Wells.

Maurice LaMarche is Orson Welles. Billy Zane is Anthony Hopkins as Nixon. Are there any other voice actors whose repertoire includes a distinctive impression like that? It'd be a useful thing to have - it wouldn't be owned by any one company. Only one company uses Bender; anyone can use Tricky Dick.

Haha, perfect!

Jay's son and Bobby Hill have the same voice. Way to be lazy, Christine Cavanaugh.

Jesus, I'm glad you're dead.
yogarfield - 2015-04-07
A: Bobby Hill died?!

B: I am laughing way too hard at this.

Don't forget Rusty the Boy robot.

It's sad she died though. She was great in that X-Files episode, Small Potatoes.

They're not even played by the same actor. DON'T GO AROUND MURDERING BOBBY HILL, FOOL.

After a little detective work: no, Bobby Hill didn't die. Or his voice actor, Pamela Adlon.

The other interpretation is as follows:

Jay's son's voice actor (Christine Cavanaugh, deceased) gave her character the same voice as Pamela Adlon gave Bobby Hill.

The joke being The Critic was first aired in 1994, whereas King of the Hill premiered 1997.

I bet cd doesn't even really like Jesus.

I DANCE ON YOUR GRAVE, CAVANAUGH. A LURID, HATEFUL JIG.

Louis C.K. and Bobby Hill are happily dating, at least until next season of Louie.

Should have saved my stars for the Seventh Seal nod at 12:29. Hysterical.

Yeah I remember watching this when I was a kid and not really getting 90% of the references and it was still really funny. Question though: how come everybody has such fond memories of The Critic but hates on Family Guy? FG's not as good, but the setups are more-or-less the same. Jay's got an excuse because he's reviewing a film, but it's pretty much "this reminds me of the time when I met ____ in a ____" madlibs type humor.
