I don't think a quiz would be a great idea either, but it would at least give them some grounds to claim that they're trying to educate people. Plus, it makes no sense to inconvenience people who already get the message and are on their side; I think even most of the protesters would agree. Or maybe I'm giving them too much credit.

... Yeah, I'm definitely giving them too much credit. This is UC Berkeley after all; probably 90% of the people there were on their side to begin with.

Punching is what they want because they want to become victims. A more effective attack is to take pictures, get names and sue for the costs of that day's classes. There's probably thousands of right-wing lawyers who would love to take this to court.

I lived in Berkeley for a while, and if Berkeley is racist as hell, then either:
A) "racist as hell" is the name given to the lowest detectable amount of racism on earth
or
B) It's nice of these kids to protest racism against non-self-hating whites.

I remember walking through (sort of) a similar protest at UW Madison because the university literally photoshopped a black guy's head into a football crowd to celebrate "diversity" and distributed it in their brochures. I was like "fuck it" and didn't go to class that day.
