Having survived cancer, I find myself considering other things that could kill me. Death by seafood is one I don't think of very often. Likely that will be the one that gets me.

infinite zest - 2015-05-21 Among other things I cook for a living, so I know the "safety zone" and all those things, but I stay vegan in part because I can basically undercook/not cook something at all and really not get sick. The idea of Homer Simpson fish sounds mighty tasty though. I had grasshopper sushi not too long ago with fried grasshopper on top and got kinda sick. But it was pretty good

gmol - 2015-05-21 Zest, assuming you are avoiding spinach. I suspect the overall risk of bacterial contamination in fruits n veggies is lower, but doubt it is negligible. Cases that come to mind include cantaloupes, carrots. Quick googling suggests that contamination is common.

Old_Zircon - 2015-05-21 The second sickest I've ever gotten from food was from TVP (vegan meat) that had gone bad in the freezer.
The sickest was from lettuce.
