God fucking help your country, cause it appears so many Americans aren't willing.
John Oliver is hilarious and educational, but I just find this so utterly depressing some days.
I blame the lack of awareness and exposition on the premise that people confuse "fighting for liberty" with having an opinion.
Yeah, the fuckedness is fairly global, I think American fuckedness is just more on display due to our love of sensationalism and the rest of the worlds love of consuming media that makes America look more fucked than they are.
That isn't to say America isn't fucked. We're totally fucked. Just...so are you. Unless you are Sweden, then you pretty much got your shit together.
No, Canada. We're screwed too as our current Prime Minister is doing his best to import the more offensive aspects from the US. But I find the situation in the US to be even more depressing then a lot of countries for some reason.
Though one party wants to get rid of First-Past-The-Post and go with Mixed Member Proportional. I wouldn't vote for them, but it's time we have this talk.

This show's batting average is amazing.
So far it's easily the best show like this so far. Colbert got too well known for his character to really work anymore and I never liked John Stewart particularly. And Bill Maher is Bill Maher. Even when he's completely on point he's still Bill Maher.

And America turns a blind eye because it mostly happens to black and Hispanic people.

This is a huge fucking problem for American society, and these reality shows are clearly pigswill, but don't Dog and his ilk mainly go after people who chose not to go to trial and therefore lost the bail money loan entirely? It's not like they're hunting down people who go to trial but can't afford the interest on the loan, is it?
