Nice find. I only knew of the toys, which had I recall being modeled with a lot of detail. This really looks great.

Jesus Christ, I've heard stories about nepotism in Starcom, but this is too much!
It seems like every TV series from the 60s to 80s had the token black guy be the studious tech guy, starting with Mission Impossible I think.
To make them less intimidating to white audiences, I guess.
Someone intimidated by black people is going to feel LESS intimidated by a smart one?
Quinn: Why do you think they call me Doctor Quinn?
Stormy: I just thought that was a nickname. You know, like Dr. Dre. Eastside!
I'm showing this, along with a 70's Japanese Han Solo/Chewie show, and a ridic 80's movie next Saturday (the 27th). Details will be here, if you're interested:
Rodents of Unusual Size
I need to learn how to backup Youtube videos because this shit needs to be available, it's a lost classic.
I do find it weird that this came out with that intent so closely after the Challenger disaster, which affected a lot of kids' career goals of becoming an astronaut for fear of being blown up. Firemen and Policemen and even Presidents of the United States have it pretty easy in comparison..
Caught the Star Trek reference, I feel an unjustifiable amount of pride at that.
I cannot help but giggle thinking about Mittens the cat trying to pull 10gs without a harness or flight suit.
The animation is great for an 80s cartoon but ye gods is the voicework terrible.
