Without really knowing, I'm guessing that at the speed the New Horizons probe has been travelling, it's probably going to be farther away than the Voyager probes before too long. Does anybody know anything about this?

The hole in the donut between the Apollo Program and manned planetary exploration was probably inevitable, but for the past 40 years, the unmanned space programs have been an incredible adventure, and you never hear about it. instaed, people complain that the space program is dead. They've completely remapped the solar system, since I was a kid, when Saturn had 10 moons (instead of 62) and Jupiter had 12 moons (instead of 63). They've charted over a hundred planets in different systems, including at least one that orbits a double star (Just like Tattooine!) I'm only vaguely aware of this stuff. There must be some good resources on the web for getting filled in. It's all so cool!

You can follow NASA directly for such news. I go to Ars Technica often, their coverage of science is good and you'll hear about the other space agencies as well. There was a good blog for this, I'll see if I can find it again for you.

Auto-five for science.
