Looks like a Jane's Addiction album cover gone terribly wrong. "Best Support Role" award goes to the guy in the red sneakers.
Everything about "Jane's Addiction" depresses me.
The entire band has like, three good songs tops. And the rest of the songs sound nothing like the ones that are popular. And they suck.
Just imagining going to see them live makes me want to do drugs and forget.

Sorry, I know the band's heyday was brief, but "Ritual de lo Habitual" is still very special to me. And apparently they're great live. "Three Days" still, like, evokes something in me, man.
They were all trainwrecks, though, and Perry's sort of a loon.
Ritual had some of the songs I was referring to when I spoke of their good songs. I have Three Days on several playlists.
I didn't get across before that the good songs they have, are actually REALLY good songs. Which makes the disparity all the more depressing!

Jane's is a good argument that all good rock bands are essentially experiments in alchemy: nothing anyone in the band did before or after "Ritual" is really all that super, a couple of tracks on "Nothing's Shocking" excepted, maybe.
I like them because they're such a unique thing, culturally. As an American expat who grew up in South America, I'd consider "Ritual" to be a Latin Rock album sung in English, which reflects a lot of my own formative experiences. It's a very LA album, and the band has said that they'd been listening to a lot of Latin Rock when they were recording it.
Also, they're odd because their genre's hard to identify: they were a punk/funk/psychedelic/metal thing before all of those things just blended into something called "alternative." Anyway, I know, TLDR, cool story bro.
oops, not meant as a reply. Although I think Juana's A-dick-see-on kicks ass.
I would argue that the popular Jane's Addiction songs are the worst of the bunch. The only stuff of theirs that really interests me is the long, meandering set pieces like "Of Course." If they released an EP that was "Up the Beach" and the B side of Ritual De Lo Habitual it would be a decent too-late entry into the 80s psych milieu, kind of like the early Smashing Pumpkins material was.
Their hits are kind of unremarkable in general, and "Been Caught Stealing" in particular is just crap despite being a bit of an ear worm.
They were no Sacred Miracle Cave or Blacklight Braille, that's for sure. Hell, they weren't even on par with Mad Violets a lot of the time.
Janes Addiciton? Who's that? Aren't they that dad rock band on the GTA soundtrack?
A friend of mine hooked me up with lollapalooza tix one year, and I saw Jane's Addiction live somehow.
The guy came out with a bottle of jack, and held it up like he was drinking it. I was close enough to see that nothing was leaving the bottle.
He was a goddamn fakeass old man.
At least jurassic 5 was taking blunts from the crowd.

Interviewer comes off like a condescending dick. I have ad blocker, but I assume he monetized this.
He's such a harshmellow.
I just saw this was on here. Bob (the filmer) is just lucky that he has a nice camera. He hangs out in Union Square all day and films people, and exploits most.
Hypocrisy example: One of his huge themes is his is outing "peepers" at the park. Peepers being dudes filming upskirt shots of girls on the steps. He uses this guise as a way to get closer peeps.
That said, he does manage some candid interviews with some interesting folk. He's friends with Joey Boots, if that paints the picture any clearer.

why is it that all the videos on PoeTV of black people on drugs are hilarious, but all the videos of white people on drugs are just sad?
It's the cameraman's fault for not asking someone to get her some milk.
I agree. It's sad that there are white people. :(
i was in syracuse one time and a kid was OD'ing in the back of the car we were riding in, in some parking lot of a big lots or something...anyways a random homeless black guy was yelling "GIVE THAT MAN SOME MILK" so is that like a common folk remedy in the hood or something? the kid was ok after we slapped him like 20 times and threw water on him, but that milk comment always stuck with me as bizarre, and became even more bizarre when i saw the same words popping up here...
Yeah, I've heard the "drink milk for drug overdoses" thing too, but it's pretty much a myth. Milk doesn't help with meth, heroine, coke, or mdma overdoses. Actually, you can't really OD on mdma, but you can overheat and/or experience hyponatremia. (over-hydration)
In any case, milk doesn't help with any of those, although it doesn't hurt either. I don't think milk helps with alcohol poisoning either, but I'm not 100% sure about that: I don't really deal with alcohol.
I'm guessing the "drink milk for overdoses" myth got started because drinking milk can help with upset stomachs, so ppl probably figured it would help with drugs too.
@orcs for your viewing pleasure:
If it doesn't load, check for spaces in the address bar. (not sure if people still know about that one). Also, If you're ever in Portland, OR be sure to pick up a narcan kit from the exchange.
@comments regarding the "giving of milk"
...I did a quick search and some article from the 70's mentions a belief among heroin addicts that injecting milk into someone who's OD'ing can help them...so it's been around that long at least.
Here's my guess to it.
milk is slang for cocaine or meth that's ready to shoot up.
It's only meant to be given to someone who's fallen out from heroin. Or, passed out from any downer. Not someone who's going crazy from doing to much of whatever else.
----------on my birthday a couple months ago, I was black out drunk and came to with a needle in my arm, shooting up...my thoughts "FUCK, Don't freak out, Oh, good I made sure to flag it, Fuck yeah drunk me!"
That is not the dumbest thing I've ever done while drunk. And that's why I switched addictions.
