I could understand if he were a thirteen year-old Korean kid, and it was the early 1990s, and the only thing playing on corporate radio or the network TV channels was Girl's Generation, but you'd think that a guy like Amazing Atheist, living in the digital age, would (if he were so inclined) find it rather easy to avoid Girl's Generation.

I don't know. He wasn't always known TO ME like this. I think he started out mocking some of the more ridiculous religious vloggers. Kevin Logan's description of how he used to like the Amazing Atheist at the beginning of his video on TJ pretty much mirrors my experience.

video as "epic". I made as much of an effort as can be reasonably expected to locate something so embarrassing.

I've made it a point to avoid Banana Boy in recent years, but I have been aware of him for quite some time, since "the early days", before the internet hivemind turned on him for saying mean things about fat chicks.

I never liked him. In fact, he was one of the first people to make me feel embarrassed about my atheism and about my hatred for "right-wing vloggers". My present moderation and tolerance for most things can at least partially be credited to Amazing Atheist and his abrasive antics.

The way he's acting in this video, Cena? Yes, he has always been like this. He's a demagogue, and I think people's positive opinions of him are governed primarily by how closely they agree with his social agenda: so long as Mr Atheist is preaching to the choir, people adore him, but the moment he says something they hate, his fans suddenly see him for what he is. Like Thunderfoot or Anita, he used to be very popular within his own chosen community, but that popularity was conditional upon his playing it safe and acting as a communal echo chamber.

To spin an aversion to posthumous slut shaming of a dead child, and lots of videos about how women lie about being raped as if it were mindless conformity is what I like to call "Classic Evil Homer".

Well, he's always "acted this way", I guess, but this is one of his more benign videos, and i submitted it for pure entertainment value. If every video was like this, I'd a be a straight-up fan. It's not the way he acts, it's the shitty things he does.

She didn't "SEND" anybody nude pictures, she was cajoled by a serial sexual predator into flashing her breasts at the camera for a second, and he took a screen capture that he used to blackmail her. Her pictures weren't "LEAKED", they were deliberately sent to everybody she knew after she refused to give the sadistic piece of shit more nude pictures. She was 14. The alleged perpetrator, who has reportedly been been charged with blackmailing approximately 75 children., is in his 30s.

IT no longer matters whether Amanda Todd is a good poster child for bullying, because the internet hasn't stopped shitting on this girl's grave. The public and well known POSTHUMOUS SLUTSHAMING OF THE UNDERAGED VICTIM OF AN ADULT SEXUAL PREDATOR is only going to make it easier for future sextorters (not my word, okay) to get traction on their victims. And the comments on TJs video is a place where this has continued all this time, or at least up until I last had the stomach to look.

Okay, to sum up, T.J. has been talking smack about a dead child for three years. He still doesn't know the first fucking thing about the case, he's probably giving aid and comfort to other sexual predators, and he tops it off by pontificating about "ACCOUNTABILITY".

Well, no, I never used the phrase "mindless conformity". It *is* conformity to a specific set of social standards, of course, but I don't see why you'd take offense to that observation (assuming I had even made it). Presumably you believe your own position to be based upon truth (a moral truth, in this case), and since when was it insulting to conform to the truth?

The point I was making to Cena is simply the one which you are demonstrating now - that is to say, The Amazing Atheist's smugly abrasive shtick only works when you are on his side. As soon as he starts to say things which his core viewership might find challenging or controversial (and he's being doing a lot of that), the illusion burns away.

In retrospect I should have realized that Amanda wasn't the girl I thought she was, on the grounds that Megan's case didn't really have any of the elements which you'd be interested in: Megan wasn't as pretty as Amanda, there was no underage sex, and her bully was a harmless, innocent old woman, instead of a big predatory man. But I wasn't thinking, and I am sincerely sorry for the mistake; I should not have called Amanda fat, and would not have, had I realized who she was.
