They should have an unfrozen Viking episode in every crime drama.

infinite zest - 2015-10-11

Or every show! This week on Diners Drive Ins and Dives, a Viking Gets Unfrozen and tries Louisiana Style Gumbo with Guy Fieri (series finale)

EvilHomer - 2015-10-12

Louisiana Style Gumbo made out of Guy Fieri (series finale).

takewithfood - 2015-10-11

I had no idea this show even existed. It's so beautiful.

infinite zest - 2015-10-11

I actually liked this show more than the x-files. It satisfied my 14-year-old needs of scifi and hot babes in a way that the x-files couldn't.

EvilHomer - 2015-10-11

How much Donna D'Errico did it have? Wikipedia says it had Donna D'Errico.

infinite zest - 2015-10-11

She was on every episode except maybe the first couple where they had the other boring lady. You could say she was the Ice T that replaced Ryan O'Reilly from Oz on L&O SUV. I remember the show starting out pretty dumb with hardly any babes but it got really good.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-10-11

It's one of the stupidest shows to ever exist. Probably the stupidest show the 90s produced and that is saying a lot.

And the Vikings did not found London, David Hasselhoff. You stop that right now.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-10-11

I think that they used to show this back to back with V.I.P., which I've submitted here before. It starred Pamela Anderson as a hot dog vendor who becomes a superspy.

infinite zest - 2015-10-11

Ironically Gillian Anderson is way hotter than the Baywatch babes now too, but I'd be more excited for a Baywatch Nights reboot than the X-Files one.

EvilHomer - 2015-10-12

VIP was my personal favorite, entirely on account of Natalie Raitano. However, had I known Donna D'Errico was being hot on Baywatch Nights, I might have given this a shot.

infinite zest - 2015-10-12

One thing I like is that people who tend to hate on later episodes of x-files (which were about as convoluted as this) forget that a lot of those were written by Vince Gilligan himself, who would later go on to make two of my favorite shows. VIP and Baywatch Nights were pretty out there but there's two ways of dealing with this as a writer, neither of which are bad: you can take the cynical/meta approach and write a show about writing a show like Californication or Bojack Horseman, or you can go do something like Gilligan did.

Better Call Saul isn't exactly Baywatch Nights is to Baywatch, but in a weird way I wish it was a little more convoluted and less down-to-earth, like Slipping Jimmy has to go back in time and defend Benedict Arnold or something, and suddenly a frozen viking appears.

EvilHomer - 2015-10-11

The helmet is historically inaccurate, as are the clothes which the Viking wears. Also, I can't get a good look at this sword, but it appears to me that the blade is an Oakeshott XIX or XIIIa, with a Style 7 (or 4?) crossguard, and a rare S pommel. It's *definitely* not a Viking era sword; if anything, I'd estimate it to be of a 14th or even early 15th century design!

Don't even get me started on the rival Viking packing a steel buckler @ 3:26.

EvilHomer - 2015-10-11

Oh, and OF COURSE the other Viking is using a Style 11 cross-guard. *facepalm*

infinite zest - 2015-10-11

The vikings got briefly unfrozen in the mid 80s in a Spencer's Gifts that's why!

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2015-10-11

EH is Lindybeige.

EvilHomer - 2015-10-12

Oooo, you flatter me! But in all honesty I had to look up the Oakeshott typology for hilts and cross-guards; keeping the Oakeshott list open in one tab whilst watching Baywatch Nights in another.

Lindybeige, I bet he would have known the typology numbers, and been able to properly identify the sword, right off the top of his head. He probably also would have been able to find an extremely controversial point about what Baywatch Nights got CORRECT. Thank you very much for your kind words, Mr Scrotum, but I have a long way to go.

infinite zest - 2015-10-12

Holy crap! I was trying to in vain to find a torrent or something but there they are!

TeenerTot - 2015-10-12

Wait wait wait.
They unfreeze a viking, he goes off on a berserker rage, they have to send a party to trap him and bring him back, so...they unfreeze another one?
That's just poor management.
