Why the hell is there a scope/sight on that thing, when it shoots in a 30 degree cone?

Also why is there no mention of the effective range? If they made the cone smaller, I think it would be able to reach more than the few hundred metres they show in the video.

Looking forward to all paramilitary, police, and security organizations needing more public money to buy these.

Scopes make things look cooler.

They didn't have to make it look like a gun at all, but who wants to point something that doesn't look like a gun?

i think its so they can get a clear sight picture so they dont jam from the hip and accidentally scramble your bluetooth headset as your drive by or something.

that's probably bullshit and its just more tactiCOOL masturbation

I'd have preferred a gha'uld staff weapon, with the trick opening tip.

So the thing forces the drone operator to land his toy gently in the grass?
I think most drones these days fail-safe in an autonomous soft landing mode. If this just disrupts the remote control signal, it'll be like if the controller ran out of batteries or something. Conveniently they can then capture it to see what footage it gathered, or something.

So a laser-based data-transfer system would laugh at this 'weapon' I assume?
