Looks good, but I have a feeling it'll be remembered like The Congress was, which is to say not at all. It's hard to put this into words but Kaufman, Folman and the like got way too much pleasure out of writing autobiographical stuff about themselves in creative ways vs. just telling a goddamn story, which Pixar is so good at doing.

The Congress was silly.
This will win Oscars.

But I'll see it. It looks beautiful.

How was The Congress silly though? It was a movie about Robin Wright, and this is a movie about Charlie Kaufman. Both are told in interesting and fascinating ways but at this point I know enough about Kaufman via John Malkovich and Adaptation to know that his screenwriting's just a way to get shit off his chest.

Been waiting for this for years.

Spoiler: In a surprise twist, the 2015 Best Animated Feature Oscar ends up going to Cries and Whispers, a 1972 live-action Swedish film. No one knows why.

Anybody else watch the related video for Sound and the Fury? James Franco just went there. :(

Yes and I love how every Youtuber thought of the same thing the same time as me.

Oh, Simple Jack.

What's funny is that Danny McBride is in both movies too. I'll bet that was running through his head the whole time. But to be fair, the Yul Brynner one wasn't very good, especially the portrayal of Benji. And I like Franco, and Sean Penn can pretend to be Harvey Milk perfectly even though he's straight but there's a line somewhere you don't cross, and Franco kind of jumped over it.
