ISIS murdered 128 people in Ankara last month. Why should they hold a minute of silence? If we literally don't give a shit about them dying then why should they give France some bullshit minute of silence for the sake of sentimentality?

baleen - 2015-11-18 Not saying they are right to do this by the way, but it's fucking sports.

bawbag - 2015-11-18 The same thing happened at a Celtic game near remembrance week, Celtic fans -predominantly Irish catholic descendants/supporters- tend not to remain silent to 'remember' british soldiers. People get all bent out of shape over that too.
It's amazing to me that people get so fucking nuts over these enforced public displays of grief and when anyone says 'well I don't agree' for any reason the reaction is so utterly vile.

That guy - 2015-11-18 This page went up and got commented on before I could put the caveat that: what was chanted, and how many chants there were, are both debatable, and probably ultimately unknowable. From the video, it sounds like more than/other than just allahu akbar.
But I titled this page what the video is titled.
However, if FIFA didn't observe your losses in Ankara, does that mean you boo France's?
This happens right before the Turkey v Greece, aiding the ol' 'Is Turkey Europe?' debate.
This is nothing like the situation with Celtic fans vs the UK's soldiers, etc.

bawbag - 2015-11-18 It's similar in that the reporting on it has been of the 'maximum outrage' daily mail variety and the responses predictably racist and over the top.
(Related: The Daily Mail published a cartoon yesterday juxtaposing refugees with rats. Literally an idea straight out of 'Der ewige jude')
Yeah though, I'll give you that Galatasaray fans (and some other Turkish team supporters) aren't exactly known for being level-headed and respectful of anything.
|
That guy - 2015-11-18 aw that's gross
I didn't know the Daily Mail was that bad.
|
Redford - 2015-11-18 There are a bunch of people who also associate a "Moment of Silence" with Christian belief.
So there's that.
|
That guy - 2015-11-18 There's also the part where Turks are insular Turkish supremicists. So there's that.
|
Shanghai Tippytap - 2015-11-18 i like how the frothing right is taking the shitty reaction of a bunch of turkish soccer thugs as reason why we should just nuke the entire region and dash some babies against rocks for good measure

Faking injuries is getting downright esoteric.

Not all Muslims!
|
Bort - 2015-11-18 You're not using sarcasm correctly.
|
|
Bort - 2015-11-18 That is indeed better!
Still a pussy cowardly stance to take, though. One thing about refugees is that the great majority of them are trying to flee violence, not find some new place to practice it.

memedumpster - 2015-11-18 Thing is, baby, I know you be trollin' me, but I like it.

infinite zest - 2015-11-18 Saying Not All Muslims is like saying Not All Movies when a fucking Michael Bay movie comes out. Of course not, but it's the one that's getting attention at the time.
