I thought this was san Arrested Development joke where they introduce a new character.

That's funny, I played all the way through Dragons Lair 2 at my local barcade on freeplay night last week, and some of the animation is so beautiful that I just stopped paying attention to the game and died for the millionth time, thinking it would've been cool as a short film, kind of like what Pixar does with their shorter movies.
But I played it mostly because I just found out a few weeks ago that there was a Dragons Lair cartoon, which was horrible. Unlike Bluth's other stuff, DL seemed like an excuse to put in some adult themes like T&A and some phallic references, but the characters and themes are just very worn out tropes which might have been kinda new in the 80s but Disney's been doing that with their princes and such forever since then anyway.
I would hope that the Dragon's Lair movie would further flesh out the characters, maybe add some more dimension to their personalities. If it remains pseudo-adult humor and dated tropes, I doubt it will find more than a niche audience. I really doubt the campaign is going to be funded, they have a lot of money to make up in just a few days.
I think all the cartoons from the USA Network series are on YT; they did just that and they're probably the worst thing to come out of 90s animation, and that's saying a lot. Dragons Lair, Space Ace and Braindead 13 were fun because even if you sucked at it you at least got a funny death animation, sort of like a PG rated Fatality in Mortal Kombat.
Remove all that and you're stuck with some character nobody cares about doing stuff and things.

70 different formats and platforms? I can only think of about 12 off the top of my head for Mario.

At least he was smart enough not to show footage from "Troll in Central Park"...
I'll wait for the Kickstartered movies based on Time Gal and Road Avenger.
