Xenocide - 2015-11-26
The final scene of Planet of the Apes, where the statue of liberty comes to life and tells Charlton Heston, "Hey, cursing is rude."
The surprise appearance of Nick Fury in the post-credits scene of Schindler's List.
The series finale of The Simpsons.
The climatic scene of Citizen Kane, where the headline "IT WAS HIS SLED" appears on page 6 of the local section, sandwiched between a story about a dog show and an ad for toothpaste.
The Urkelbot Trilogy (especially the one Kubrick directed)
The sequence in Lord of the Rings 2 where the Night Orcs of Glenvenkrong pledge their loyalty to Zanglor the Untrenchable, and meanwhile Frodo is so scared he runs away and slips on a banana peel, and the studio audience applauds for a full minute.
Ingmar Bergman's Shrek.
The sequence in Horny Butt Sluts 12 where they're on the pool table. Everything you need to know about framing a shot is in this scene.
The scene in Green Lantern where Ryan Reynolds is trying to decide on a superhero name and says, "I'm green, but I glow, like some sort of green...lantern!" And his token Latino best friend pops up from behind a couch and shouts "YOU GOT IT NOW, PAPI!"
The very start of Fantastic Four (2015) where you notice there's a guy holding a sign up that reads "we're sorry" in the background, and he's there in every single shot of the movie.

|
Rodents of Unusual Size - 2015-11-27 I refuse to Harrison Bergeron myself. Xenocide and I are comrades in wit over here. If Brian Harrod wants to steal our efforts, that is the price I must pay.

Hooker - 2015-11-26
It's hard to pick best scenes, but the one from Shaolin Soccer where Chow's character is hitting on the street girl and it inspires the other people around to let go of their inhibitions and do what they want to do _literally_ gets me every time. The scene gets ruined when it turns into the Thriller dance, but just up to that moment, it's pure magic.
|
Spaceman Africa - 2015-11-27
Good Burger, all of it.

infinite zest - 2015-11-27 Well, ROUS has most of mine, but I'd like to add the opening montage from Takeshi Miike's Dead or Alive (and the end of Audition) and of course seeing Alyssa Milano nude in Poison Ivy 2.

HAL reads lips
Metropolis' Moloch
The truck stall in Close Encounters
The kid who knows how the bird trick works in The Prestige (on repeated viewing).
|
John Holmes Motherfucker - 2015-11-27
I forget, was there even a single Tarentino scene?
The lapdance from Deathproof was great because it's kind of hot the first time you watch it, and after that the context makes it too creepy to watch.
I would have picked a different scene from Yojimbo
Peter Finch's monologues from Network
Subway chase from The French Connection
The feeding machine from Modern Times is indeed a masterpiece, and it's discussed with real insight here.
This video is way beyond the dumb-dumb Watch Mojo list I expected. Well worth my time. Thanks for submitting.

|
jangbones - 2015-11-27 also mentioned as a "runner up" is the ear scene from Dogs
I saw that with film school friends, and we knew almost nothing about it going in...halfway through that scene my friend goes "what the fuck am I watching?"

That guy - 2015-11-29
I'm sorry I missed most of the discussion, but does anyone know Cinefix well? It seems like this list could have been a lot worse, so I'm wondering if they make good stuff...?
|
Bootymarch - 2015-11-29 The discussion ain't over till the site burns down!!!
I thought the cinefix list was good, just about every movie they talked about that I've seen was great but (I suppose you can't avoid this when talking about so many classics because they've been so dominant) really focused on hollywood movies.
The poetv discussion has been better, but a little focused on hollywood movies...with some anime.
|
jangbones - 2015-11-29 in an ocean of awful cinema channels, cinefix occasionally makes worthwhile content
