One time I was asleep and I woke up and Dana White was just standing over me, breathing heavily but saying nothing.

"Dana," I asked, "what's wrong?"

"I'm just so upset over Rousey losing to Holms."

"Well, she seemed kind of out of it. I mean, she'd even said in interviews that she was sick and tired. It happens."

"It still hurts."

"I know."

I don't really follow UFC, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's revealed at some point that Rousey threw the fight. A.) you could make a shit ton more money by betting it all on Holm, and if Rousey had connections and received a big part of the cut that's way more money than a UFC fighter makes, and B.) people get bored with teams they always assume will win, like The Yankees, Patriots or until fairly recently the Lakers, and ratings go down. I'm willing to bet if the Pats make it to the Super Bowl again this year, a lot less people will watch the Super Bowl, but coordinating a dive in a pro sport is a lot more complicated than a one-on-one match. Hell, it worked on me. I knew dick about UFC and never watched it but still showed some interest after that match.

*in a pro sport with a lot of players*

with the way oddsmaking is done now, a rousey loss led more to people losing money than anyone making money. i barely understand it myself, but betting on a winning underdog leads to less gains (proportionally) for a bettor than the losses resulting from betting on a losing favorite (if that makes sense). i.e. rousey was something like +1300 to win (example), meaning i'd have to lay 00 to win 0; holm was -8000, so if i lay 0 i would have won 00. if rousey bet on herself she could definitely have cleaned up, but i suspect that would have been kiboshed by ufc management- they survive almost entirely on the good graces of the nevada gaming commission, et al, and the good ol' boys on the commission are very sensitive to issues of (unlicensed) gambling in combat sports.

tl;dr- if rousey threw the fight it probably was a private concern that paid her off, rather than the ol' "bet on your opponent" trick. but the odds of such a competitive jerk doing that are slim to none, imho.

She definitely got beat because she's kind of a really terrible striker and always has been. Dana White is a blowhard and a mental midget.

jimmyboblahey - 2015-12-07

Maybe if they did this with male fighters you faggots would like capitalism.

Gmork - 2015-12-08

Because everyone who isn't you hates capitalism because LIBRULZ.

Gotcha.

EvilHomer - 2015-12-07

All of these products, save perhaps the hot dog brander, sound excellent.

Anybody want to do your pal Homie a solid and buy me a Christmas present? Not sure if Kyra Gracie is fighting in the UFC yet, but if so, I wouldn't mind some of her stuff.

Have any female fighters been known to squirt in a thong during a fight? Maybe while having her clit punched and kicked....

infinite zest - 2015-12-07

I doubt it.. for most women it takes at least a good couple of minutes of clitoral stimulation to come, but I did give a girl an orgasm once just by dryhumping with clothes on for not very long, so you never know. But it'd be like asking a guy if they've ever came after getting punched or kicked in the balls. It's probably happened somewhere, but not likely.

This isn't really too uncommon; I was comparing to the NFL shop and they have an Aaron Rogers jersey for ,500 and things like that. Yeah, it's signed, but it's the same jersey you can get at the mall for around . With that kind of money, I'd just buy a cheap one, go to a game in Green Bay and figure out where Rogers hangs out (Green Bay's a really small town) and see if I could get it signed. He seems like the kind of guy who'd do that as long as you

Used bras from female athletes competing at the highest level of the sport, for the largest organization in the sport, are not uncommon?

infinite zest - 2015-12-08

Oh yeah should've clarified that I was just talking about horrifically overpriced merchandise in general, not necessarily the soiled panties part.

Sweaty/dirty gym clothes have been a staple of the bodybuilding scene. There's a gay subculture that pays top dollar for it. Gay-for-pay is the easiest way to pay for your steroids and not have a job so you can work out all day.

Old_Zircon - 2015-12-08

Those prices seem pretty high when I saw a certified ring-worn Macho Man Randy Savage shirt from 1991 on ebay with a Buy It Now under 0 a couple years ago.

Reebok's most recent hilarious fuck-up:

Killer Joe - 2015-12-08

My favorite was their Ireland shirt, which featured a map of the country.
They left out Northern Ireland, though. Very few were impressed.
Its like Reebok's whole UFC department is run by interns that are children of executives, so they just can't give fewer fucks.

Old_Zircon - 2015-12-08

I don't pay a bit of attention to UFC, but I want one of those Anderson Aldo shirts. Can't even find one on eBay, though. When Disney sold and then recalled those Joy Division shirts 5 or 6 years ago they were on eBay in a matter of hours (at ludicrous, 3 figure prices though).
