Yeah back when I was in college and had cable I'd fall asleep to C-Span like I fall asleep to podcasts these days. The early morning was the best when people were probably still drunk or possibly high. But the best was still the well-meaning people that C-span hosts would politely correct, like "Texas is not a country."

It's exactly the amount of respect cable news deserves.

I've heard the argument that C-Span ruined congress. Instead of using debate to hammer out legislation, they spend all their time on the floor mugging for the cameras.

I watch CSPAN pretty regularly when it is BookTV on the weekends ('sup, ladies) and whenever they do call-in stuff it's always a disaster.

CSPAN prank callers are never as entertaining (or upsetting) as some of the sincere callers.
