10:45 - "Twelve hours later..."

That being said, these guys are someday gonna crank the codes that govern reality AND THEN WE'LL SEE WHO LAUGHS LAST.

Raggamuffin - 2016-01-15

20:30 "For simplicity..."

Grandmaster Funk - 2016-01-15

9:31 - Super Mario scholar Tyler Kaney is cited for a contributing discovery. Surely we stand on the shoulders of giants.

Turrican - 2016-01-15

I... I watched the whole thing. 5 stars.

Kabbage - 2016-01-15

Same. I watched a few seconds just to see what it was, then... then I couldn't stop.

It is utterly, bafflingly fascinating.

Monkey Napoleon - 2016-01-15

This guy should be making better flash carts than what's currently available or programming the best homebrew game ever or designing A/V mods. Instead, he's spent god how much time figuring out how to glitch a game in way that takes 12 hours just so he can avoid pushing the buttons in ONE level of a video game.

Monkey Napoleon - 2016-01-15

I'm sorry... so he can avoid pushing ONE of the buttons in ONE level a video game that has, what... 15 levels?

infinite zest - 2016-01-15

Yeah the title here is misleading. I thought it was the whole game too at first. But I like this guy so he gets all the stars, even if the mission was to get just one.

Raggamuffin - 2016-01-15

If this guy designed a flashcard, it'd be as big as a billboard and make use of bizarre grammatical tricks to avoid using the letter "a."

yogarfield - 2016-01-15

Perec's A Void

infinite zest - 2016-01-15

Scuttlebug Transportation is a great band name.

The Mothership - 2016-01-15

Agreed with MN, this guy as potential to be useful, but instead he plays vidya games.

Two Jar Slave - 2016-01-16

"Plays"

Bus_Aint_Comin - 2016-01-15

this is almost as good as those two wacky japanese guys with the giggles who are scared of the green mushroom

Mr. Purple Cat Esq. - 2016-01-15

Its amazing how hacky Mario is. I have this fantasy that my games have no exploits like that :)

Two Jar Slave - 2016-01-15

God bless you, Kabbage.

Rafiki - 2016-01-15

I want to pay a lady to go on a blind date with this guy, with the caveat that she can't collect unless she sits through the entire explanation of this, complete with visual aids, during dinner.

Two Jar Slave - 2016-01-15

This guy is a perfect absurdist, QPU-aligned with our reality but operating in a place with no content. The next time I sit down with my supervisor to talk about timelining my upcoming contract, little Mario speed graphs will be flashing through my head.

I wish he was doing this on purpose, but would it make a difference?

Two Jar Slave - 2016-01-15

Not meant as a reply.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-15

This is a very interesting channel! I loved his detailed explanation about how to get the maximum number of coins in each level of Mario64, but there are a few things I still don't get - like, "how does he do the coin glitch?" "How does he make a fake enemy?" You know, the basic stuff!

I'm assuming he explains these techniques in an early video; does anyone which one?

EvilHomer - 2016-01-15

Also, I love Ulillillia, I really do, but I've voiced concerns about U-dawg's methodology in the past, and this video is a perfect illustration of my point. For example: the "trick" behind getting maximum stats out of leveling Final Fantasy characters? According to Ulillillia, save-scumming; constant repetition until the RNG comes up favorably.

When Ulillillia plays oldschool games, he tends to brute-force his way towards higher numbers, but surely, there's an elegant method through which to exploit the system, using glitches and an intimate knowledge of the source code...? Maybe he could sit down with Mr Pannenkoek and, together, the two of them could come up with some better strategies.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-15

Also... I'm assuming this is tool-assisted, right? I'd hate to think of the psychological pressure that'd go into running backwards for 12 hours straight, then having to perform a series of ultra-precise maneuvers, including one final hop that's only got a few frames margin of error.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-15

Nevermind, found this:

Grandmaster Funk - 2016-01-15

???? This is not Ulillillia

Grandmaster Funk - 2016-01-15

Oh, you are presenting this as a counterpoint

Two Jar Slave - 2016-01-15

If this isn't tool-assisted, I want a clone of this guy working in every nuclear silo.

Ugh - 2016-01-16

*unwraps werthers original*

it's going to be a nice night

dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-01-16

This guy and Ulillillia should collaborate on a video together.
