I think that I've finally come to terms to where Trump is coming from: there isn't a default voicebox leader this cycle, now that Limbaugh is pretty much a dead dog. There's nobody to politely steer the sheep to the pen they need to be in. For all his bluster and threat, Limbaugh never ran for president. Beck never ran for president. Hannity never ran for president.

Trump ran for president. And who else ran for president? Pat Robertson.

Not once in this clip does Trump actually deny voting for Barack Obama.

He doesn't say the words, but he says that Beck is lying. He also claims to have publicly raised money for John McCain. I consider this a denial.

Fuck it, Trump for president, let's just get this over with.

I think people are putting way too much effort and thought into analyzing Trump. He's just an asshole. America loves an asshole.

Exactly.

I agree with Trump that Glenn Beck is a dopey guy. (Incidentally, I also agree with Trump that his daughter is totally bangable.)

America doesn't love an asshole; Republicans do. I don't think Trump's ever going to be president, because a majority of Americans consider him unfit. It's just that a majority of those idiots who support him tend to be likely GOP primary voters.

I'm no pundit. I'm barely paying attention, The following a hypothesis, but I think Trump is a much bigger threat to the Republican establishment than to the USA.

Here's a link to a column by Paul Krugman entitled: "Trump is right on Economics.", followed by a brief passage:

http://nyti.ms/1M51Cmo

>>So am I saying that Mr. Trump is better and more serious than he’s given credit for being? Not at all — he is exactly the ignorant blowhard he seems to be. It’s when it comes to his rivals that appearances can be deceiving. Some of them may come across as reasonable and thoughtful, but in reality they are anything but.

>>Mr. Bush, in particular, may pose as a reasonable, thoughtful type — credulous reporters even describe him as a policy wonk — but his actual economic platform, which relies on the magic of tax cuts to deliver a doubling of America’s growth rate, is pure supply-side voodoo.

>>And here’s what’s interesting: all indications are that Mr. Bush’s attacks on Mr. Trump are falling flat, because the Republican base doesn’t actually share the Republican establishment’s economic delusions.

>>The thing is, we didn’t really know that until Mr. Trump came along. The influence of big-money donors meant that nobody could make a serious play for the G.O.P. nomination without pledging allegiance to supply-side doctrine, and this allowed the establishment to imagine that ordinary voters shared its antipopulist creed. Indeed, Mr. Bush’s hapless attempt at a takedown suggests that his political team still doesn’t get it, and thinks that pointing out The Donald’s heresies will be enough to doom his campaign.
