What's great is that the hockey pundits who are defending him think that maybe he was hit so hard that he didn't know what was happening.
I saw the hit on a different video, the one that's in the first second of this video but you can't see it too well here.

I've been hit harder than that in ice hockey, and more to the head. It didn't make me confuse which uniforms were which.

That's the thing about concussions, they may not always look as serious as some other more gruesome hits of that nature, but man they can be every bit as nasty. I also saw the hit that Wideman took right before that, and it looks like he got his head rocked pretty hard on the glass.

It reminds me of a hit I saw Aaron Rogers take one time on MNF; he wasn't tackled very hard, but his head banged on the turf and he got a nasty concussion from it, not the knock you out kind, but the kind that give you horrible migraines and blurred vision and that kind of looks like what happened to Wideman there, a case of badly misplaced retaliation.
