The slits first album is fucking awesome! Wasn't able to get into their second one much at all.
I HIGHLY recommend their Peel Sessions. They included them on the deluxe version of Cut when it came out. It's probably the best Peel Sessions anyone ever did, ever.
Also, Viv Albertine's memoirs, "Clothes Clothes Clothes, Music Music Music, Boys Boys Boys" is absolutely incredible. She's disarmingly frank about everything and depicts all the British punk luminaries she knew as real people with flaws and all. It's an amazing read.
I couldn't get into the Slits when I first fell into punk (at 13 or so), but by the time I was 19 I was absolutely in love with their music. I felt like I was going to have a stroke from excitement when I met Ari about a decade ago.
