As a death metal performer, I've long felt that vocals like this diminish the entire genre. Not only are they unintelligible but wholly laughable by anyone but the gullible teen metal fans. Metal singers like Tom Araya from Slayer and King Crimson from Merciful Fate show that you can be articulate while also conveying the message of the music. I feel that the low-growling and comedic squeal-growling are more for aesthetics than lyrics, which defeats the purpose of the lyrics that these songs are supposed to have, leaving one to read liner notes or web pages to determine what's actually going on in the song.
Oh, and this video made me pee a little.
