Shortly after arriving at CNN, on October 4, 2011, Burnett did a segment on the Occupy Wall Street protests titled "Seriously?" in which she mocked the protesters. Media watchdog groups, including Fairness and Accuracy in Reporting, claimed Burnett's reporting was purposely inaccurate in order to paint the protesters in a negative light. Glenn Greenwald claimed similar bias, attributed to Burnett's partner who worked at Citigroup. In response to the criticism, CNN issued a statement saying, "We support Erin and the OutFront team and we respect that there will be a range of opinions on any given story."

StanleyPain - 2016-02-17 Like Glenn Greenwald gives a shit about accuracy in journalism.

Hooker - 2016-02-17 Yeah, but hot tub! Get it? Hot tub!
I couldn't watch The Daily Show after Jon Stewart spent the whole time shitting on and complaining about the protesters. Occupy Wall Street really does seem like a moment when people show you who they really are.

That guy - 2016-02-17 Sure, yes, Greenwald is full of shit sometimes.
|
That guy - 2016-02-17 Ignore that part of it, and she's still an asshole.

Void 71 - 2016-02-17 John Stewart's brother works on Wall Street.

lotsmoreorcs - 2016-02-17 excuse me but occupy was doomed for the start because of the general assembly model.
it's really easier to just point to the video of the occupy atlanta GA clusterfuck trying to decide whether or not to allow a civil rights activist to speak at their assembly rather than bluster off few paragraphs regarding the total failure of the entire movement.
EGO killed occupy, ego, entitlement and complete lack of preparation. the park was filling up with shit, these people did not have a plan for their waste disposal, let alone a plan of attack. occupy SUCKED

Old_Zircon - 2016-02-18 AS an organized movement, Occupy wasn't an organized movement. But I'll give them credit for completely changing the economic narrative in the mainstream media. I guarantee the whole "1%" meme would never have made it to cable news, much less caught on in the popular imagination without the attention Occupy brought to it, for better or worse.
|
Old_Zircon - 2016-02-18 I have no idea who anyone in this video is though.
